HIO!!
master collection CS4 is in!! Cant wait to start using it!! A big thanks goes out to Jeremy Benge for letting me use his account at lynda.com to get some good training on all my new toys.
With all the big transitions that are going on in all of the lives of those who will be in leadership, we've got some big prayer requests. Please pray for healing and health for all of our "significant others" (cant wait to just say "wives".) Also pray for Tricia's job situation. We feel called to be in TO for our ministry at Anthem, but the current job market for elementary school teachers in the CVUSD is pretty ridiculous. We have faith that God will take care of us, but things seem a little overwhelming at the moment.
Any prayer requests for you guys? lemme know!

Ready. Settttt..............
Any of you who know me know that I am not the most patient person. I know it's one of the fruits of the Spirit, but life is supposed to be a work in progress right?
Right now I feel like I'm a runner who's in the blocks, fingers just behind the white starting line, waiting for the gun to set me free.
I have a beautiful woman who loves God and loves me, and I'm needing to wait to do the "big ask."
I have an incredible opportunity to display the vision of Anthem Church through the creative arts, yet I'm limited in my pursuit of that by my current job situation.
Believe me, I'm not trying to have a pity party for myself here at all. God, for some reason beyond my comprehension, has blessed me so richly in the last six months. I know that His plan far exceeds my own plans of how I think things should happen. I am soooo excited for this next big phase of my life that will be starting this year. I'm sure you can understand my eagerness to stop talking about it, and actually start doing it!
To make the most of my "prep-time" before things get officially crazy, here's what i'm doing:
- I know it's odd that the future Media Arts director of the church does not have CS4, so that will be fixed shortly. Love that i can get the Master Collection for $300, and it's all legal. Good times. Anyone know the best way to take photoshop comprehension from a beginner level to places unseen?
- I want to start meeting with other people who are doing what I will be doing. I love in person meetings, but Tokbox is a close second. Anyone know of people i should talk to (including you...)?
- Any other suggestions? I'd love to know your input.
I hope and pray that God will use all of us in a creative way to the fullest of our potentials.

What Does It Mean to be a Creative Arts Director?
We all know how much of an impact we make in the mission and ministry of our churches. If you had to say in three sentences or less what the most important aspects of your role are, what would they be?
I believe that the role of the creative arts director is to effectively display the vision of the church leadership through the creative arts. I also believe that leading a team of artistic volunteers is huge, and also training someone else to be able to do what i do.
Anything else you think i'm missing or disagree with?

Welcome!!
So amidst all my toils of trying to find some kind of forum where Creative Arts Directors can discuss their passions, share ideas, successes, and failures, I eventually hit my necessary frustration level and decided to start one up myself.
I am very excited about this. As we all know we are not creatively inspired and stimulated by just sitting alone and closing out the outside world. We need to build a community where ideas are flowing, minds are inspired, and the kingdom of God is impacted through Creative Arts ministries.
Have a new topic? start it.
Have a question? ask it.
Have a great new idea? spill it.
See a great source of inspiration somewhere else? post it.
I look forward to learning from others who are on the same mission that I am, and being able to impact your ministry as well.
